Located downtown in two freshly-renovated buildings on the former campus of Fox Tech High School, CAST Tech works hand-in-hand with industry partners to prepare students for careers in technology and business, fields where the demand is high for talented workers. Some features of the unique program include flexible schedules, hands-on projects and real-world problems to solve, as well as job shadowing, mentorships, internships, and job opportunities upon graduation.
CAST Tech uses computer-based learning to allow students to progress more quickly in areas where they have mastered concepts, allowing them to dive more deeply into projects and areas of great interest. College coursework is embedded in the program, and students can graduate with an associate's degree, industry certifications and portfolios that feature long-term projects and other examples of their work.
Industry partners for CAST Tech include: H-E-B, Tech Bloc, Geekdom, Rackspace, USAA, Frost Bank, AT&T, Whataburger, Jungle Disk, Root 9B, and University Health System.
I believe that CAST Tech has already shown my daughter the different things that she can be, so when she graduates from CAST Tech she will know this is where I’m going, these are the people who can hold my hand and get me there.

Here at CAST Tech, we enjoy working with all stakeholders to create a learning community that knows each student individually by name. Working collaboratively with industry and higher education institutions, we are creating meaningful and relevant educational experiences to ensure our students achieve the skill-sets and education necessary to be future ready!"
We are looking for volunteer mentors who can commit to coming to our campus to meet with students 1-2 times per month on a regular basis. Mentors must complete a background check, register with the SAISD volunteer program, and attend Mentor Training.
Partner with CAST Tech on an iPBL (Industry Problem Based Learning)
We work with you to solve a relevant problem that your company is working on through focused curriculum alignment with the guidance of our teachers.
Projects or Special Assignments
Give us something to work on that your staff hasn’t had time to do. From graphic design to IT, we have students who want to gain real-world experience.
Internships or Apprenticeships
Students can intern on-site or work remotely (paid and unpaid).
Job Shadowing Days, Site Visits, or Field Trips to Your Location
Students can shadow someone in a particular field of interest or groups of students can come and conduct site visits to learn about your company and industry.
Guest Speaker Opportunities, Coffee Chats, or Lunch & Learns
We can invite you to campus to speak to a grade level or smaller groups of students about your industry, your career path, or other skills-based technical topics.
Externships or Training Opportunities for CAST Tech teachers and faculty
Have a CAST Teacher come learn about your industry so they can take that knowledge and experience back into the classroom.
Industry-themed Class Talks
With rapidly-changing technology, we rely on experts to provide us with the latest trends in the tech industry. We can pre-arrange for you to come in and spend a day or two on our campus teaching a specialized topic that hasn’t made its way to the classroom yet.
