The Centers for Applied Science and Technology is a 501 (c) 3 network of public-partnership schools working with San Antonio area independent school districts. The CAST mission is to reinvent schooling to maximize options for students, while preparing them for the jobs of the future. By partnering with CAST Schools, leaders have the opportunity to play a direct role in the career readiness of students and provide mentorship to help students seamlessly transition into college or the workforce, while nurturing a homegrown and committed source of talent. CAST Schools also partner with civic, higher education and nonprofit leaders to get students outside the four walls of school buildings and into workplaces, travel, and other real-world experiences.
Lead a district career and technology high school education center that is a partnership of Southwest ISD and Palo Alto College, and focuses on the careers of engineering, advanced manufacturing, power and energy, & global supply chain logistics. Collaborate with district administration to ensure that this center is part of an integrated career and tech vision for SWISD, and provide leadership to ensure high innovative standards of instructional service across district career and technical programs, oversee the staffing and curricular design of this new model, and help connect it to relevant district efforts, especially in internships and work-based learning.
