CAST Teach High School is San Antonio’s first school dedicated to careers in education. Created in partnership with Northside ISD, the CAST Schools Network, and the University of Texas at San Antonio’s College of Education and Human Development, the school brings together multiple industries to create future educators that will transform our community. The school works alongside students and families to identify and nurture their passions, while providing them with key skills relevant to careers in education, such as teaching, counseling, library studies, coaching, and more.
CAST Teach High School will not only ensure students have a strong foundation in educational practices, but it will also provide experiences in schools – side by side with mentor educators, coaches, counselors, and librarians.

CAST Schools were co-created as a San Antonio regional partnership between public independent school districts, higher education institutions, and local employers as a new model of teaching and learning. Today, CAST Schools serve over 2,000 students within its five schools.
Students select a CAST school based on their interests, set personal goals, and design their school experience with the support of their teachers, industry, and other nonprofit partners. Students tackle real-world projects designed by local employers and civic leaders and work in teams alongside mentors from the field.
