Youth In Power Info Session

Our Tomorrow will host an Info Session for high school-aged youth (14-19) to learn about YOUTH in POWER.

Thursday, June 25th

YOUTH in POWER is an engagement pathway program that offers students paid professional development opportunities to grow the skills they’ll need for civic engagement, college, and career. Attached below is a brief description of the programs offered.

SUMMER/FALL Programs

● LeadershipTracks(DigitalBadging):​ Students will develop an online leadership badge through the FutureReadySA Digital Badging program.​This is an incredible professional development opportunity and resume builder for youth who are interested in leadership development, advocacy, tech, and programming.

● Community Alignment Task Force: ​Students will serve on the Community Alignment Fiscal Map Task Force alongside community leaders from the business, government, education, and philanthropic communities. As a member of the task force, students will help to identify funding gaps and disparities in San Antonio and co-develop strategic steps to promote equitable recovery of San Antonio’s child and youth serving systems. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in advocacy, fundraising, strategic development, and networking.

● PolicyInstitute:​Students will participate in Our Tomorrow’s 2nd Annual Policy Institute. During the Policy Institute, students will have the opportunity to grow their civic engagement skills by learning about Policymaking, Power Mapping, Data & Research Acquisition, Strategic Communication, Coalition Building, Fundraising, and more. This program is a great opportunity for students who are interested in advaocay, policy, strategy development, networking, and community organizing.

Who can participate in the program?

Youth in Power programs are open to San Antonio area high school students who are aged 14-19 years old.

Are participants paid?

Each participant will receive a stipend between $300 – $500 based on their program.

How long is the program?

The length of each program is between 2-4 months.
