West Texas Experience

February 9th – 11th, 2022

11th and 12th-grade students from the Advanced Learning Academy will travel to West Texas to explore arts, culture, and nature sites in the region. Students will travel by bus to Sul Ross University where we will stay in campus dormitories for two nights. All meals, activities, lodging, and transportation is included.

Itinerary:

Wednesday, Feb. 9th – Depart ALA at 8:00 am, arrive Alpine, activities at Sul Ross, viewing Marfa Lights

Thursday, Feb. 10th – Visit McDonald Observatory, hike in Davis Mountains State Park, stargazing

Friday, Feb. 11th – Tour Chinati Foundation in Marfa, visit Fort Davis State Historic Site, return to ALA by 7:00 pm

Cost:
  • $240 for non-economically disadvantaged families (can be paid in installments in 2 X $120 installments)
  • $120 for economically disadvantaged families (can be paid in 2 X $60 installments)

-January 14th, 2022 – $120 (or $60)

-February 4th, 2022 – $120 (or $60)
