About CAST:

The Centers for Applied Science and Technology is a 501(c)3 network of public-partnership schools working with San Antonio area independent school districts. The CAST mission is to reinvent schooling to maximize options for students, while preparing them for the jobs of the future. CAST has 6 schools in four school districts; the nonprofit is governed by a board representing industry and civic leaders. The Student Experience Coordinator is a new position and will join the school’s team, made up of the Schools Director and Educator Engagement Manager.

Position Summary:

CAST schools is seeking a passionate and driven Student Experience Coordinator to join our team. The Student Experience Coordinator will play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall student experience by developing and implementing initiatives that promote student engagement, student voice and agency, and student leadership initiatives.  This student-facing position involves developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating exciting and experiential student activities and events focused on the CAST Mission, Vision and Core Pillars. The Student Experience Coordinator will collaborate closely with the CAST network team, campus staff, and most importantly, CAST students on numerous unique and innovative student empowerment programs and processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with the students, campus staff, CAST network, community partners and families.
  • Effectively leverage student experiences, voice and agency opportunities.
  • Collaborate with various departments to design and execute programs and events aimed at enhancing student engagement and satisfaction.
  • Cultivate and employ tools and methods for data gathering, data analysis focused on continuous growth and informed planning to include establishing and using quality metrics for providing ongoing feedback and measurements of growth and impact.
  • Lead the creation of student experiences, voice and agency roadmap with milestones, activities and metrics with rubrics, student interviews and surveys.
  • Assist in connecting and relating exemplary educator behaviors impacting student impactive processes and tools (w/key performance indicators) suitable for replication, expansion and/or implementation.
  • Identify and co-create showcases of student experiences, voice and agency manifestations that can include campus prototypes for CAST schools and in the San Antonio community at large.
  • Support CAST’s student advisory and other student-led collaborations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of innovative and successful student experience related to student voice, student leadership, student agency, student engagement and student affairs required.
  • A deep commitment to the mission, vision and values of CAST Schools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute events and programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • A valid Texas Driver’s License with the ability to travel in the service area on a regular basis.
