“I look forward to continuing to build on the great work taking place at CAST to amplify student voice and agency in shaping educational outcomes.”
Eric Falcon joins the CAST team with a background in amplifying student voices and crafting spaces that empower students as members of their community. Across all roles, his work focuses on students steering their own academic and professional journeys. After obtaining a B.A. in Mathematics for Secondary Education from Our Lady of the Lake University, Eric became a teacher with a focus on fostering learning environments rooted in community care and student agency. After leaving the classroom, Eric worked at the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) where he facilitated the establishment of summer bridge programs aimed at increasing the representation of Latinx students in the STEM field. As the Student Experience Coordinator, Eric’s role at CAST enhances the overall student experience by developing and implementing initiatives that promote student engagement, student voice and agency, and student leadership initiatives. Through his experiences, Eric has learned that transformative and equitable practices in the lives of students and their schools cannot exist without listening to students. He states, “I am proud to be able to do this work with CAST, where spaces for student agency are fostered, encouraged, and used to drive decisions for learning.”
