The Centers for Applied Science & Technology (CAST Schools) were designed in 2017 by industry, civic, and public school leaders as a regional economic mobility strategy for San Antonio, TX. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supports 5 tuition-free, industry-led, career-themed high schools and 1 pre-k through 12th Academy, in 4 different independent school districts. We expand opportunities and access for our nearly 2,000 students while incubating new approaches to teaching and learning for our partner districts, which collectively serve 170,000 students across the San Antonio region.

At ALA, teachers will collaborate to create a personalized learning experience for your child to foster a passion for exploration, deep thinking, problem-solving, and creative design. Accepting rising preK4, 6th, and 9th grade students.
The only medically-focused, dual-language high school in south San Antonio, students at CAST Med explore careers in Medicine, Biomedical Research, and Public Health. Accepting rising 9th and 10th grade students.

The Centers for Applied Science and Technology (CAST) Network is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. CAST Schools are partnership schools with a focus on STEM careers, project based learning and work-based learning. Key partners include public school districts, higher education institutions, and local employers from target industries.
