CAST Network schools are in a research partnership with UTSA’s Urban Education Institute. The partnership enhances our schools’ ability to act as laboratories for innovation and continuous improvement. The Urban Education Institute’s Lab Research Schools are modeled after the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching’s Networked Improvement Communities, or NICs.
Because CAST Schools are partnership schools with multiple public school districts, our partner districts have an opportunity to test ideas and replicate or scale them.
The Centers for Applied Science and Technology (CAST) Network is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. CAST Schools are partnership schools with a focus on STEM careers, project based learning and work-based learning. Key partners include public school districts, higher education institutions, and local employers from target industries.
