This week, CAST STEM kicked off its Adventure Camp with younger prospective students. Over the course of the adventure camp, CAST STEM has partnered with its industry partners to take these students on respective field trips in order to showcase the vast career potential that comes with an education in STEM. On Wednesday, CAST STEM took its students to VelocityTX, an organization that helps early-stage bioscience companies launch innovative breakthroughs that can significantly enhance and save lives at a global level.
At VelocityTX, students engaged in different science experiments and learned about DNA and how it makes us who we are today. Students ranged in age and came from different parts of San Antonio, however their curiosity and eagerness to learn more about STEM had brought them to VelocityTX today. Through team-building exercises, students began to forge connections and friendships that will last long after Adventure Camp finishes at the end of this week.
