Earlier this week, students from CAST Med High School were able to participate in clinical rotations at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital. Student participation ranged across the ICU, NICU, Environmental Services, Plant Operations and Security. Students engaged in hands-on learning and were able to have their questions answered by trained professionals at the hospital. By incorporating this unique opportunity into CAST Med’s healthcare-based curriculum, this experience helped emphasized CAST Schools’ pillars in Relationships and Authentic Learning.
CAST Med aims to prepare its students for careers in healthcare, with pathways ranging across all aspects of the field. Students were able to see these different pathways firsthand when they volunteered at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital earlier this week. The hope is that students will take this experience and incorporate it into their college/career decision once they graduate from CAST Med.
