CAST Alumni Spotlight: Santiago Arteaga

Date

Santiago Arteaga has been thriving through his first semester at Incarnate Word since graduating from CAST Med in 2024. At Incarnate Word, Santiago became vice president of the First-Generation Student Organization in which he is responsible for leading meetings and making events for students. Additionally, he also became a Resident Assistant with the Residence Life and Housing Operations Department at UIW. In this role Santiago manages a dormitory and engages with residents to ensure that they are supported.

Furthermore, Santiago ensures the building is operating safely, coordinates events for residents, and schedules community gatherings. Santiago has also become part of the Pre-Nursing Society, Future Health Care Heroes Organization and a part of TRIO Student Support Services Program. Santiago is pursuing his passion for public health, currently working towards becoming a nurse and eventually a Doctor of Nursing.  Even as a busy and engaged college student, Santiago continues to expand a personal business that he started during high school.

Santiago Arteaga is making the CAST Network proud as he continues his studies at UIW and takes advantage of the many opportunities offered to build his leadership skills.
