The Advanced Learning Academy (ALA) is a Pre-K through 12 school in the San Antonio Independent School District. By using the broader community as its classroom, ALA leads in transforming the education model. Teachers collaborate to create a personalized learning experience for all students and foster a passion for exploration, deep thinking, problem-solving, and creative design. Authentic learning experiences provide all students with cutting-edge learning skills that prepare them for all futures they envision for themselves.

Application and Selection Timeline
Application Window for PK – 10th Grade: November 6, 2024 – January 31, 2025
First day to submit an application for the 2025-26 school year. Apply online at www.saisd.net/apply
Offers are announced Week of February 24, 2025
Applicants will receive notice of their status. There are two offer statuses an applicant may receive: Offer or Waitlist
DEADLINE TO ACCEPT AN OFFER: March 18, 2025
Applicants who receive an offer to a Choice School or Program must accept their seat by March 18, 2025. if no action is taken, the seat will be forfeited to an applicant on the waitlist. Applicants on the waitlist should take no action at this time.

CAST Tech works hand-in-hand with industry partners to prepare students for careers in technology and business fields where the demand is high for talented workers. Some features of the unique program include flexible schedules, hands-on projects, and real-world problems to solve, as well as job shadowing, mentorships, internships, and job opportunities upon graduation.
CAST Tech High School is a tuition-free public school created in partnership with the CAST Schools Network and San Antonio ISD. The school is open to students across the greater San Antonio region who are entering 9th or 10th grade.

CAST STEM allows students to explore careers in engineering, advanced manufacturing, and global logistics. Students learn to build and program robots, drones and electric cars and travel to competitions with teams.
The chance to experience a college setting during high school and to work directly with industry mentors set CAST STEM students apart and sets their future in motion, no matter where they decide to take it.
CAST STEM High School is a tuition-free public school created in partnership with the CAST Schools Network and Southwest ISD. The school is open to students across the greater San Antonio region who are entering 9th or 10th grade.

Located in Brooks, CAST Med is a public school serving 9th – 12th-grade students in partnership with San Antonio ISD and CAST Schools. Students prepare for a variety of medical professions with pathways in healthcare and biomedical sciences and gain a significant advantage by earning industry-recognized certifications such as Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Biotechnician Assistant, and more, setting them apart in their chosen fields. CAST Med High School is also the only medically focused, dual-language high school in south San Antonio.
New Middle School for the 2024-2025 School Ye
In partnership with San Antonio ISD, CAST Schools will open a new middle school at CAST Med in August 2024. The new middle school will help prepare students for rigorous STEAM high schools by providing opportunities to discover their passions, identify their strengths, and explore multiple college and career opportunities. The new middle school is now accepting rising 6th and 8th-grade students for the 2024-2025 school year.
San Antonio’s best leaders have partnered with CAST Lead High School to create a professional learning environment where students discover their interests and find their purpose. From day 1, students are in the boardrooms where decisions are made, in communities where neighbors need help and with their classmates creating solutions that solve real-world problems.
CAST Lead High School is a tuition-free public school created in partnership with the CAST Schools Network and East Central ISD. The school is open to students across the greater San Antonio region who are entering 8th, 9th or 10th grade.

CAST Teach High School is San Antonio’s first school dedicated to careers in education. Created in partnership with Northside ISD, the CAST Schools Network, and the University of Texas at San Antonio’s College of Education and Human Development, the school will rally multiple industries to create future educators that will transform our community. The school will work alongside students and families to identify and nurture their passions, while providing them with key skills relevant to careers in education, such as teaching, counseling, library studies, and coaching.

The Centers for Applied Science and Technology (CAST) Network is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. CAST Schools are partnership schools with a focus on STEM careers, project based learning and work-based learning. Key partners include public school districts, higher education institutions, and local employers from target industries.
