Up to 200 teams will participate in this year’s first round of the 4th Annual CAST Schools Speak Up Speak Out Regional Civics Fair. Volunteer Room Facilitators will ensure both students and judges have a great experience during the competition to include:
• Establishing room expectations and norms
• Ensuring teams start and end on time
• Moving teams in and out of breakrooms
• Facilitating Q&A
• Updating and communicating any opportunities that may arise (technical difficulties, questions, regarding rules, etc.).
• Share a link to the exit interview
Morning Session: 9 am – 12:05 pm
Afternoon Session: 12:30 pm – 3:20 pm
The regional finals will be in person at Texas A&M University. There are 3 volunteer opportunities:
• Room Facilitators: 9 am – 12 pm
• Greeters and Registration Table Help: 8 am – 9:30 am
• Lunch Volunteers – student volunteers to pass out lunches between 12:15 pm – 12:45 pm
The Centers for Applied Science and Technology (CAST) Network is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. CAST Schools are partnership schools with a focus on STEM careers, project based learning and work-based learning. Key partners include public school districts, higher education institutions, and local employers from target industries.
