For five years, CAST students have worked alongside local author and tech leader Lorenzo Gomez III to bring to life a play entitled Three Years of Fear adapted from Lorenzo’s book, Tafolla Toro. This play addresses and offers strategies to navigate fear and anxiety through autobiographical stories of growing up on San Antonio’s Westside. Sharing Gomez’s book Tafolla Toro, and accompanying reflective activities has become a signature event focused on mental health and relationships for entering CAST 9th graders.

CAST Schools are partnership schools with a focus on STEM careers, project based learning and work-based learning.
