CAST STEM High School is San Antonio’s #1 engineering school on the south side. The public high school, created in partnership with Southwest ISD, CAST Schools, and Palo Alto College, serves approximately 200 9th through 12th-grade students from across the greater San Antonio region and emphasizes preparing students for high-demand, high-wage jobs in engineering, advanced manufacturing, and global logistics. Co-located at Palo Alto College, CAST STEM integrates both college and career readiness while allowing students to pursue customized opportunities based on their interests.
Students learn by doing and innovating in the classroom and beyond. Through project based learning students tackle projects related to real world needs and will leverage the newest technology actively used by industry.
All students will have access to earn transferable college credits to include Dual Credit Courses from local colleges and universities plus earn industry recognized certificates to minimize the cost of college and elevate their resume in the workforce.
CAST Schools are tuition-free and open to students across the greater San Antonio region who are entering 9th or 10th grade. Our small class sizes provide our educators with the opportunity to meet students where they are and co-create a plan for future success.
Students prepare for careers in engineering, manufacturing, drones, and logistics.
CAST STEM students can earn up to two (2) years of college credit and industry certificates.
CAST STEM is for students who would like to receive a college experience, are career and goal-oriented, and are seeking real-world opportunities.
CAST STEM welcomed its first class in August 2018.
