Creating a community of Servant Leaders

• Students will learn to identify feeling of difference, value and accept differences in others, understand body language as part of communication. Students will learn to translate different into an advantage.
• Students will have the opportunity to identify guiding principles and core values at a variety of levels (e.g. admin, teacher, student, industry parters), experiencing the process, developing their own process that would translate to future hiring practices.
• Teachers will listen to students, respect authentic selves, seek to understand student values (individually-universally-collectively), create classroom culture of what matter publicly.
• Students will be able to walk into a room and join a group successfully, with the ability to articulate personal strengths

• Students will learn how to identify and respond to each other
• Work with similar and different personalities in a variety of projects, affords students multiple opportunities to learn through interactions.
• Challenge and support students in their group roles, helping them understand appropriate interaction, negotiation, and collective accomplishment.

• Students will learn to name feelings, identify skill not yet learned and learn strategies for success
• Students will have access to strategies, tools and “re-set” tactics for reflection before-during and after project based learning initiatives.
• Teachers will model appropriate self-management skills, use self-reflection and training opportunities in understanding individual students.
• Students will be able to have crucial conversations with teachers, other students and industry partners. Students will be able to help incoming student cohorts by telling their story and establish emotional tools to “change” their emotional state.

• Students will be able to identify their emotions and appropriately plan for the emotion and/or trigger. Student will be able to recognize effort, and exhibit a growth mindset.
• Student seek to understand personal biases, which can change interpersonal dynamics and outcomes of the work.
• Teachers can name the emotions, help students frame successes and failures and support a growth mindset (model).
• Students will exhibit self-confidence, critical thinking, ask questions, and have a positive attitude.
