CAST Teach High School is San Antonio’s first school dedicated to careers in education.
CAST Teach is created in partnership with Northside ISD, the CAST Schools Network, and the University of Texas at San Antonio’s College of Education and Human Development.
CAST Teach will open in August 2022.
CAST Teach will be located on the campus of John Paul Stevens High School, a Northside ISD school. The address is 600 N. Ellison Dr., San Antonio, TX 78251.

Admissions is open to current 8th grade (incoming 9th grade) students for the 2022-2023 school year. CAST Teach is open to students in the greater San Antonio Area.
Students who apply will be admitted to the lottery pool. Once a lottery pool has been established from the applications that meet the initial criteria, the lottery will be conducted. Selections from the applicants are random. Students included in the lottery pool but not selected in the initial lottery will remain in the pool on a waitlist, which will be used to fill additional spots as openings occur.

Yes. CAST Teach is a Northside ISD school. Sports and extracurriculars can be pursued at John Paul Stevens High School.
The Centers for Applied Science and Technology (CAST) Network is a tax-exempt organization as described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service code. CAST Schools are partnership schools with a focus on STEM careers, project based learning and work-based learning. Key partners include public school districts, higher education institutions, and local employers from target industries.
