Earning his associate degree in mathematics this December from Northwest Vista College and starting a bachelor degree program at UT San Antonio in January 2026, Corey Cortez has already done so much since graduating from CAST Tech in 2022.
Through his coursework and his work experience at a non-profit, Boeing, and college work-study, Corey notes that his biggest accomplishment since becoming an alumni has been honing his networking skills and exploring personal interests without fear of failure.
Corey attributes much of his success to the small and personalized environment of CAST Tech which he says helped to develop his interpersonal skills. He noted. “I was able to not be as anxious in public speaking, and eventually I even gave a presentation at the Texas capital.”
Knowing that easing a young person’s anxiety about their future is easier said than done, Corey offers this advice to current CAST students, “Don’t worry if what you want now changes in the future. Life is full of mysteries and surprises. Your interests and career goals will fluctuate, and that’s completely okay.” The CAST Alumni Network is proud of who Corey chooses to be and we know this is just the beginning of all the wonderful things he will do!
