Timiera Jackson was a part of the inaugural class of CAST Tech, back in 2021. Since graduating from CAST, she has attended and graduated from Texas A&M University – San Antonio with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. Currently, Timiera is working as an Advisor & Social Media Manager within the New Student Orientation/First Year Experience program at San Antonio College.
Timiera has been very involved in the CAST Alumni Network, both as an active Alumni, sitting on our CAST Alumni Advisory Council and Steering Committee and is now stepping into her newest role as our CAST Alumni Fall Intern. When talking to Timiera about why she’s stayed involved in the CAST Network, she spoke to her experience as a military brat, CAST Tech was the first school that she stayed at from start to finish, she continues to use her personal experience to help students navigate high school and/or college. She reflects back on what she needed at that age and spends her time being the support system her SAC students may need.
We asked Timiera if she had any advice for the current CAST Schools students, she had this to say, “Try out for every opportunity presented to you. Even if you think nothing will come of it. You will learn A LOT about yourself and what you bring to the table when you get rejected from an opportunity. Don’t view that rejection as a reflection on your person, instead see it as an opportunity to grow as a professional.” We are excited to welcome Timiera to the CAST Schools Network team this fall and look forward to her work with the Alumni Network.
