Arnulfo Cabello, CAST STEM ‘22 is forging his own path as he works towards building his career in construction. Immediately following his high school graduation, Arnulfo started an internship with Embrey. During this internship he gained experience on the administrative side of the business, assisting superintendents and project managers. Arnulfo shared that this internship was a valuable experience in which he was able to build various skills and connections that set him up for continued success in his career. The connections he made during his time at Embrey later “opened so many doors” with other construction companies during Arnulfo’s junior year of college.
Since 2022, Arnulfo has been attending the University of Texas at San Antonio where he studies Construction Science and Management. Earlier this year, Arnulfo landed another internship, this time with Corbins, an industrial electrical company. This opportunity has allowed Arnulfo to expand his knowledge of the electrical component of the construction industry. He has also become the lead intern and has begun overseeing other interns from universities across Texas.
As he reflected on his journey so far, Arnulfo shared the following advice for CAST students who are taking on an internship, “help in small ways long enough and soon, you’ll find yourself helping in big ways too”. Arnulfo’s story is a testament to the fact that passion, hardwork, and dedication pays off. CAST Alumni Network is proud of Arnulfo and looking forward to his continued success.
