JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited (4) year college or university OR 3-5 years experience in industry
  • The candidate must have a satisfactory outcome from a fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Partnership and Workforce Coordinator will act as a campus leader and key facilitator for information exchange between industry, staff, and students. Serving as the face of CAST Med and CAST Imagine to industry partners and the community, they will articulate the school’s 6-12th grade career-connected vision to all stakeholders. This role involves leading and overseeing the Work-Based Learning Program implementation while liaising between the CAST Network, the campus and supporting partners. The Coordinator will ensure graduates have opportunities for various work-based learning experiences, including job shadowing, field experiences, mentoring, and internships. They will promote the benefits of such exposure and work towards developing and establishing career pipelines in San Antonio’s high-wage, high-demand industries. The coordinator will also spearhead student recruitment and enrollment efforts to meet the school’s objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish a 6-12 career-connected learning vision for the campus that begins with career exploration, moves into exposure, and includes mentorship and internships.
  • Assess Work-Based Learning models to design and facilitate the implementation of a successful campus model.
  • Design, develop, and implement the Work-Based Learning Program, including identifying necessary community-based partners and supports.
  • Utilize best practices in WBL and continuous improvement of the WBL program using quantitative and quantitative collected data, Partnership & Workforce Development Coord: evaluations and feedback.
  • Work closely with industry partners to strategically design, implement, and evaluate WBL opportunities for students.
  • Provide students with WBL opportunities that contribute to CCR as well as the development of soft and hard essential workplace skills such as job shadowing, field experiences, and internships.
  • Seek out innovative WBL opportunities.
  • Coordinate campus WBL engagement events.
  • Work collaboratively with staff as needed to support the success of the WBL implementation.
  • Cultivate relationships with industry partners, community members, and families.
  • Serve as an industry partner and community liaison.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, alumni and community members. Support prospective student recruitment and engagement.
  • Coordinate the school’s student recruiting efforts to include family and student engagement events in support of recruitment.
  • Coordinate the CAST Med campus student ambassador program.
  • Support the implementation of a peer mentoring model that connects CAST Med and CAST Imagine
  • Support the implementation of CAST Network goals and KPIs at the campus level.
  • Support the CAST Network student advisory program
  • Participate in staff development activities that improve job-related skills and professional growth.
  • Daily attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
  • Serve as part of the campus leadership team and perform other administrative duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This is a grant funded contract position to run from when hired until the end of the CAST Schools fiscal year, June 30. Contractor will be expected to work full time and be paid on a monthly basis (arrangements can be made for bi-weekly); compensation does not include TRS or benefits. Depending on qualifications and experience the monthly pay will range from $7000-$8000 per month, with the first month prorated depending on days worked. There is a possibility but not guarantee of a full-time position with the school district being established for the 2025-2026 school year, or an extension of the grant.

Mental & Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, effective management and public relations skills, and ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Includes prolonged periods of sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting of 40+ lbs. The job requires long periods of the arm, hand, and finger movement, and occasional district-wide travel.
