The CAST Med mascot will celebrate our school spirit and serve as a public symbol of our community. The Cougar mascot will boost the morale and spirit of the campus and reflect the personality of the school: Inquisitive, Brave, Welcoming, Excellence, and Caring.
The mascot design will integrate into the CAST Schools and San Antonio ISD brand, helping define and identify our school for both internal and external communities. The winning mascot design must incorporate CAST Med’s colors. The mascot will be displayed in school, network and district publications, advertisements, the website, clothing, facilities, and more.

Regulations
The mascot design challenge begins Friday, March 3, 2023, and runs through April 21, 2023. All design entries submitted after midnight, April 21, 2023, will be disqualified. All design entries that do not follow the mascot design guidelines and/or are incomplete will be disqualified. Artists may not post their designs on public websites or use in their portfolios until an official winner is selected and announced. After the announcement, all artists should label their artwork as a contest entry or sample.
Artists who do not meet these requirements will be disqualified. Decisions of CAST Med are final. The winning design shall become the exclusive and perpetual property of CAST Med, CAST Schools, and San Antonio ISD; by submitting the design entry, the artist agrees to this assignment of all rights to CAST Med, CAST Schools, and San Antonio ISD in the event that the artist’s submission is determined to be the winner. Judging
A committee composed of CAST Med High School Administrators will select three submissions based on creativity and artistic quality, as well as how well they represent the school and encourage school spirit. The student body will then be given the opportunity to vote for the winning design.
CAST Med shall have the sole discretion to select the winning design based on this and other criteria that it feels, in its sole discretion, appropriate. CAST Med may replace the first-selected design with an alternate design if it determines, after first-selection, that the alternate design is, in CAST Med’s sole discretion, more appropriate.
The winning design becomes the property of CAST Med, CAST Schools, and San Antonio ISD, as stated above.
Winning Design
The winner will be announced by May 18, 2023.
The artist with the winning design will be initially credited for their work on the school’s website, as well as various communications channels (social media, press releases, school’s website, athletics website, etc.) used by CAST Med, CAST Schools, and San Antonio ISD. Not all uses of the design by the school will carry attribution.
Upon notification of the winning design, the selected artist will be invited to work collaboratively with the CAST Schools Network to refine the design and prepare it for use in publications, the website, and other communications channels. The winning design, as it may be altered, also becomes the exclusive and perpetual property of CAST Med, CAST Schools, and San Antonio ISD.
