CAST Alumni Spotlight: Araceli Martinez-Higgins

Date

Since graduating from CAST Tech, Araceli has continued to pursue her passion for design and innovation at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is majoring in Architecture with a minor in Electronic Design, blending creativity with technology to shape her future in the field. Araceli currently serves as Co-President and Co-Project Manager of her campus chapter of NOMAS (National Organization of Minority Architects), where she leads efforts to uplift culturally diverse architecture students and raise awareness about issues impacting the profession. Her team is currently preparing for a national design competition, showcasing both leadership and collaboration.

Araceli’s accomplishments since graduation reflect her drive and dedication. She was awarded the Autodesk Scholarship to attend the 2023 ACADIA Conference, where she explored the world of computational design in architecture. Additionally, last summer she completed a program with Columbia University which focused on urban planning. This summer, Araceli is looking forward to her internship with the Brackenridge Conservancy, where she will apply her knowledge in architecture, urban planning, and construction to real-world projects aimed at preserving and improving Brackenridge Park in San Antonio.

She credits the continued support of the CAST College and Career Network for helping her navigate life after high school. For Araceli, CAST Tech was more than just a high school—it was a launchpad for academic achievement, leadership, and meaningful impact.
